Kishanpole assembly seat is one of the eight assembly seats of Jaipur city Lok Sabha constituency. Kishanpole assembly seat is a Muslim dominated seat, but till 2013 it was considered a stronghold of BJP, because from 2003 to 2013, BJP had won three consecutive elections from here. Then Mohanlal Gupta was MLA from here for three consecutive times on BJP's symbol.  In the 2018 assembly elections, Amin Kagzi became MLA for the first time on a Congress ticket, while BJP leader Mohanlal Gupta, who won three times in a row, had to face a crushing defeat.

Salim Kagzi was also associated with Congress from the beginning, he was the District President of Jaipur City Congress for a long time and was the Chairman of Rajasthan State Haj Committee twice. His simple and straightforward life and friendly attitude towards all took him to the heights of progress. This image and relations of his helped Amin Kagzi to move forward. Amin Kagzi held on to this image and relations of his father strongly and took his political journey forward.

Amin Kagzi was given a ticket by Congress from Kishanpole assembly constituency for the first time in the 2013 elections, but he lost the election. The main reason for this was that there was an atmosphere against the Congress in this election and then even the big stalwarts of the party lost the elections in Rajasthan.  Congress had got only 21 seats out of 200, this was the worst defeat of Congress till date in Rajasthan.

Amin Kagzi joined Congress as soon as he came to his senses, because he inherited the connection with Congress and working for the party. He used to be active in every small and big program of Congress along with his father. This was the reason why the party made him a candidate in the assembly elections in 2013. After the defeat, he remained active among the people day and night in Kishanpol assembly constituency for 5 consecutive years. He got the ticket again in the 2018 elections and he won the election. In this election, Amin Kagzi got 71 thousand 189 votes (49.95 percent), three-time BJP MLA Mohanlal Gupta got 62 thousand 419 votes. Kagzi defeated Gupta by 8 thousand 770 votes.

In 2018, the Congress party won in Rajasthan and Ashok Gehlot became the Chief Minister for the third time. Amin Kagzi was made the chairman of Rajasthan State Haj Committee. With the support and blessings of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Amin Kagzi developed his assembly constituency Kishanpol tremendously.  He laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and launched various development works worth crores of rupees in five years. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress Party in-charge General Secretary Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, concerned ministers, MLAs, councillors and a large number of local people participated in these programs.

Among these development works, sewer line strengthening and renovation work worth about Rs 271 crore and construction and repair work of schools, hospitals, community buildings, roads, drains etc. worth Rs 211 crore are prominent. Also, water coolers with RO were installed in the main markets for drinking water for tourists and local people. Apart from this, new water lines were laid in various wards under the "Amrit Yojana" at a cost of about Rs 4.25 crore and 32 tube wells were installed.

Amin Kagzi distributed scooties to 100 disabled persons from the MLA fund during the Congress government. He built 374 CC roads in various wards, got 209 sewerage lines constructed and got boring done for drinking water at 105 places.

Apart from this, MLA Amin Kagzi also got the ancient temples of his area renovated by preserving their original heritage form by getting art work, repair work and painting done. In this renovation work, about 5 crore 73 lakh rupees were spent on Shri Tadkeshwar Ji Temple Chaura Rasta, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Ji Temple Badi Chaupad, Shri Gopinath Ji Temple, Shri Kalki Ji Temple Hawa Mahal Bazaar and Shri Radhakrishna Ji Temple of Gangauri Bazaar during the Congress rule. Along with this, he spent 2 crore 33 lakh rupees on the renovation of the historic Jama Masjid located in Johri Bazaar and various construction works.

Amin Kagzi spent about 39 crore rupees on various development works and construction works of Kishanpol Girls College, Mahatma Gandhi Government Basic Model Durbar School, Government Higher Secondary School Manak Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Government School Modikhana, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Chowra Rasta, Government Maharaja Girls Higher Secondary School Chhoti Chaupad, Government Smt. Kamla Nehru Girls School Johri Bazar, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Telipada, Government Mahatma Gandhi School Naharwada, Government Secondary School Mandi Khatikan, Government Thakur Harisingh Shekhawat Sanskritik School Khetri House, Mahatma Gandhi Government English Medium School Mali Colony and Maharaja Library Chowra Rasta etc.

MLA Amin Kagzi has spent 5 crore 76 lakh rupees on various works of Mokshadham and cemetery (Qabristan). Apart from this, 6 crore 25 lakh rupees have been spent on Jachcha Khana Government Hospital Ramganj, 40 crore rupees on Kishanpol Satellite Hospital, 30 crore rupees on Moti Katla Hospital, 70 lakh rupees on City Dispensary Telipada, 22 lakh rupees on City Dispensary Ward 70, 75 lakh rupees on Urban Primary Health Center Swami Basti, 15 lakh rupees on Janta Clinic Jalupura, 15 lakh rupees on Janta Clinic Topkhana Ka Rasta and 3 crore 96 lakh rupees on Ayurvedic Hospital Lakshmi Narayanpuri on various construction works.

Apart from this, development works worth crores of rupees have also been done for community buildings, smart heritage street lights and poles, underground parking, laying of underground electricity cables etc.  Amin Kagzi got all these development works done during the Congress rule from 2018 to 2023, when Ashok Gehlot was the Chief Minister. Now BJP is ruling in Rajasthan and Amin Kagzi's party Congress is in the opposition, so he is not able to get the development work done in Kishanpol area at the same pace at which he got the development work done during the Congress rule. But still he keeps trying to solve the problems of the people all the time.
